Spotify has reached the limit of 40 million paying subscribers. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced this via Twitter yesterday. In March the counter was still at 30 million paying users.
The originally Swedish streaming service is therefore still a lot bigger than a competitor Apple Music, which saw the number of users increase from 13 to 17 million since April. At Tidal, the counter currently stands at around 4 million users.
