Spotify is a music streaming service. Music can be browsed or searched by artist, album, genre, playlist, or record label. Free users can listen to music, interrupted by targeted advertisements. Paid “Premium” subscriptions remove advertisements and allow users to download music to listen to offline. The service has also introduced social functions such as the “Follow” feature which allows following friends or artists, and verified artist profiles.
Spotify was launched in October 2008 by Swedish startup Spotify AB. As January 2016, the service has approximately 80 million users with 20 million subscribers.
Spotify offers music via on-demand streaming only.
It takes between 24-48 hours after delivery to have your tracks available in Spotify.
